I had it in my mind that I’ve been eating too much red meat. Not sure why because looking back we’ve mostly been eating chicken, salmon and pork. Mostly chicken. I’m a little tired of chicken. Yesterday I grabbed a few grass-fed ribeyes at Publix.
Can’t have steak without carmelized mushrooms and onions!
I asked my husband to just cook half my steak so I wouldn’t have to deal with the heartbreak from reheating perfectly cooked steak and turning it medium. Like it really upsets me. I NEED it medium-rare.
Served with asparagus! After the first bite I was reminded of my ridiculous love for steak. Wow. And that is why I have gladly given up grain.

I’m at the point in my primal life (2.5 years and counting) where I can say that I like beets. I hated them 2 years ago because they taste a little too earthy. And by earthy I mean that they taste like straight up dirt. I never purchased beets, I was only exposed to them at restaurants that serve them in salads. I refused to eat them but eventually got over myself and would eat a slice knowing it was good for my body. I went from hating to resenting. And then while eating my slice of beet on a recent Sunday afternoon I recognized that I enjoyed it. Then at Whole Foods a month ago, I actually bought a bag of beets.
They’ve been sitting in the refrigerator and remained unopened until this morning when I put a big-ass salad together. Looking forward to consuming my beet slices. Yes, more than one!

So concerning said salad– we’re nearly out of romano cheese. My husband has the luxury of being able to drive home for lunch most days so I decided to leave what was left of the cheese for him and planned to walk to Rollin Oats on my lunch break. I followed through with this plan and during my walk I saw this awesome sign along the way.
Beautiful, isn’t it? Exactly why everybody/every body deserves respect. Every person.
