Today I took it upon myself to make REAL chicken soup for the family I work for. They’ve been very busy and consequently their bodies are tired. I saw some Airborne on the counter and thought that some healing foods would be good for them. They have a few cans of chicken soup and a box of instant chicken soup so I contemplated making one of those and adding veggies/meat buuuut they were also out of veggies. I went to the store and bought onions, carrots and celery. I also grabbed a package of bone-in thighs since they only have boneless chicken breast at home.

I threw everything into a pot along with some seasoning (salt, pepper, garlic powder, a bay leaf) and BAM!

I absolutely love seeing the oils floating around up top. Homemade chicken soup is the best!! The family texted me to thank me and say that they enjoyed it so hopefully they truly did because I was somewhat worried about possibly over-stepping my boundaries. I had some of the soup before leaving the house and I was pretty jealous that I made it for another family to enjoy haha

I came home and cooked my own dinner.

I bought these a few weeks ago. I found them in the frozen seafood section at Whole Foods. Sadly, I did not pay attention to the fact that the clams are COOKED!

I made linguine and totally overcooked the clams so they were chewy =( Next time I’ll either buy canned or fresh clams. Or I’ll buy the frozen clams again and make chowder.
Anyway I threw stuff together based on these two recipes:

Easy Linguine with Clams

Now I’ve got some pumpkin custard baking.

I used Nom Nom Paleo‘s recipe buuuuut didn’t get fancy with the little ramekins. My home smells incredible at the moment.
