Rogue Meals

As I have previously stated, I have come to a good place in my adult life where I can eat what I want without feelings of guilt or shame. Those feelings were a result of labeling certain foods as “bad” and then consequently feeling like a bad person for consuming those foods, even in small quantities. That is called disordered eating. I am over that. Here are some of the delicious foods I have consumed in the past few months that may not be paleo, low-carb, organic, whatever.

^ This is a small portion of a deconstructed Philly Cheesesteak from a place called PhilaDeli in St. Petersburg. So delicious! They use amoroso rolls from Philly. Once in a blue moon I will get a Philly with the bread, but for the most part I’m okay without it because that means I can get the 12″ portion of steak, cheese, mushrooms, onions, and peppers with the possibility of finishing it all AND feeling well verses getting the 6″ on the roll and feeling overstuffed/sickly afterward.

This is a frozen Newman’s cheese pizza with veggies from a salad kit roasted on top. Not in any way low-carb or grain-free, but delicious and I’m going to go with nutritious 😉

This is an incredible grain-free breakfast sandwich that I made from Birch Benders’ paleo pancake mix! I got the idea from their Instagram where they made a keto waffle sandwich using their keto mix. I do not have a waffle maker, nor do I have instant access to their keto mix (it’s only slightly more lower carb than the paleo mix anyway) so I just made pancakes. Just as good, I’m sure. It had eggs, cheese, sausage, and Primal Kitchen‘s chipotle lime mayo.

Here is a regular ol’ breakfast sandwich made with Publix’s Greenwise everything bagel. The eggs are Vital Farms’ pastured eggs so I’m happy to report that I still received nutrition from this heavy carb meal. No regrets.

A gluten free pizza from one of my favorite restaurants, Noble Crust. This is their margherita 2.0 pizza (it has the addition of whipped ricotta and avocado!!).

A breakfast quesadilla made from Siete Family paleo tortillas!!! Two eggs, lots of cheese, and a nice pile of full fat Greek yogurt for dipping.

These low-carb enchiladas have been life-saving for me on the weekends. The tortillas are made from CHICKEN so they’ve got a good amount of protein in them. The chicken enchiladas are delicious and I loooooove that verde sauce, but it’s too much chicken at once so I like to pair them with the cheese ones.  And that Publix PB Trinity ice cream is INCREDIBLE. It’s one of my husband’s few weaknesses, so I take full advantage and plant the seeds of ice cream desire in his mind on Saturdays lol Usually he’s the one who is all about eating well, with very little compromise.

Notice how the common factor in all my “rogue” meals is CHEESE!! There’s no way around it, I love it.

It’s 11:15AM and I have yet to actually eat. Had a protein shake with collagen/gelatin powder and micro greens, but I’m looking forward to solid food. I’m thinking Chipotle, but am undecided. Will update later.
